Everything We Know About the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge
The brand-new Galaxy S25 was announced at the start of 2025 and launched just a month after Samsung’s biannual Galaxy Unpacked event. The flagship series offers 3 models, including the standard S25, the S25+, and the premium S25 Ultra.
One thing we weren’t quite expecting from the event, however, was the unveiling of a fourth addition to the lineup: the Galaxy S25 Edge. You may be thinking that this sounds familiar, since “Edge” was the name used for the older curved Galaxy S devices. But Samsung’s newest release isn’t a remake of the Edge – instead, it brings a slimmer model to the Android range.
Since this teaser, there have been plenty of rumors detailing the technical specs and features of the S25 Edge, which could go on sale as soon as this month. So, what can we expect? And is this device a worthwhile addition to the S25 series? In this article, we’ll discuss exactly what we think we know so far about the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge.
Rumored Galaxy S25 Edge Technical Specifications
Here’s a round-up of the key design and performance features that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge could include:

Design
Samsung’s official teaser at the end of January’s Galaxy Unpacked event showed the S25 Edge being put together, revealing some potentially key design details.
The first of these is its dimensions. The S25 Edge is likely to be a similar size to the Galaxy S25+, at 159 x 76 x 6.4 mm vs 158.4 x 75.8 x 7.3 mm, with a boxy frame and glass back. However, it seems that the Edge is built to be a more premium device, with a thinner, compact design and a similar look to the iPhone 16.

It’s therefore rumored to be much lighter, weighing around 160 grams compared to the S25+’s 190 grams. The Edge could also scrap the Armor Aluminum for a titanium frame that offers more durability, with enhanced water and dust resistance.
In terms of rear cameras, they’ll be housed in an oval bump alongside the LED flash, with a punch hole camera on the front of the device.
The teaser showed only a metallic gray body, but since the rest of the S25 series is available in a range of colors (Icy Blue, Mint, Navy, and Silver Shadow, or Titanium Black, White Silver, Gray, and Silver Blue for the Ultra), there should be more shades available with the official launch.
Display
The teaser also showed a 6.6-inch FHD+ display. This is only slightly smaller than the S25+’s 6.6-inch screen size, but much bigger than the base model. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge could also feature the same adaptive 120 Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling.
While the exact details are unclear, the Edge is expected to have a lower 1080 x 2400 resolution, with a pixel density of 393 PPI compared to 519 PPI. This would mean slightly lower-quality images and graphics, but we’ll have to wait until the launch for confirmation.
Although they don’t quite rival Google Pixel phones, Samsung devices in general are known for their impressive brightness levels, with the S25 lineup peaking at 2600 nits. The S25 Edge is expected to follow suit, though we don’t yet have the exact figures.

Performance
The Galaxy S25 Edge may be thin, but it certainly won’t compromise on performance.
A benchmark leak suggests that the Edge will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset included in the rest of the S25 collection, with 1 processor and 8 cores. This is designed to power Galaxy AI features, which Edge users will have full access to – plus 6 months of free Gemini Advanced.
It may also feature the same 12 GB of RAM, although storage options are something we’re unsure about at this stage. The S25+ starts at 256 GB, while the base model has a 128 GB option, so the route that Samsung chooses for the edge is likely to depend on pricing.
Something we’re particularly excited about is the potential 2969 single-core and 9486 multi-core scores, which could see the device hitting similar performance markers to the premium S25 Ultra. However, it’s unlikely to have the same battery life.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is rumored to be built with a 3900 mAh battery capacity, which is closer to the standard model’s 3885 mAh than other devices in the range. It will also offer the same 25 W charging speeds, but sadly won’t support wireless charging due to the thinness of the design.
Cameras
Samsung Galaxy phones are known for their high-quality triple rear camera setup, featuring Main, Ultra-Wide, and Telephoto lenses. But this is where the S25 Edge differs; it’s expected to have just two cameras, ditching the Telephoto lens.
This may seem disappointing, but the potential 200 MP Main camera certainly makes up for it, putting the Edge’s camera system on par with the S25 Ultra.
It could also use the same 12 MP Ultra-Wide lens as the Plus model and will utilize Galaxy AI features for photography too, including the ProVisual Engine for enhanced image quality and Nightography mode.
Final Thoughts
Tablet-sized foldable phones may have become increasingly popular over the years. But it seems that thinner devices are set to have their moment in 2025, with the rumored iPhone 17 Air and, of course, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge.
Samsung’s newest addition to its flagship lineup may use more durable materials, while featuring a thinner design and a new dual camera system. However, it’s likely to feature the same chipset and similar performance metrics to the base model, and could even match the premium Ultra device.
The price is yet to be revealed, so we can’t quite nail down whether the Edge will be a worthwhile purchase. However, if you’re looking for a lightweight flagship that doesn’t lower its quality in favor of size, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge could be a great choice for you.
